Small review of the 2Do app I use to run my business and personal life

Small review of the 2Do app I use to run my business and personal life

2Do is one of a handful of apps I use to run my life, my business and keeps me sane.

I have used the 2Do on iOS from the start but never got into ‘tasks’ in my professional life nor personally although I often tried nothing I did seemed to make things work in the right way for me, until…

Until I got try busy with my Consultancy firm and things kept slipping my mind personally too, and my friends and family getting a little annoyed with my laps in all thing memory related.

So I took to the Internet & App store and looked around for ways of clearing my head. I looked time and time again for the right todo app and ways of keeping things in order. I bought 10’s of apps and spent €100’s of Euros on getting the right solution, overtime I though I found ‘the one’ i was really disappointed with the results.

How many screws does it take to hold a keyboard in place on a 15 inch MacBook Pro?

How many screws does it take to hold a keyboard in place on a 15 inch MacBook Pro?

I have done hundreds of these repairs, but I’m still amazed by the amount of screws that hold the keyboard where it’s supposed to be.

It’s with good reason, if any one of these screws are missing the whole structure of the keyboard changes. It’s becomes unstable and hard to use.

I was never a fan of any online backup services for my Mac until…

My client and friends all know that I’m not a fan of having my data (or client’s data) online, specially in todays climate of privacy violations and snooping.

I have a very healthy fear of people looking at my personal (and not so personal) data. Even my client’s data is secure on my own hosted server with all back doors closed.

So when my clients ask for a backup solution that is safe, secure and has a minimum of fuss I have always advised against online backup services due to costs, speeds and most of all security.

Until now…

If your MacBook is overheating and/or slow, dust could be the cause

If your MacBook is overheating and/or slow, dust could be the cause

If you have a car, or when in Holland a bicycle, you would take it to a garage or shop to get it checked out every now and again. Specially if you have a feeling that the car (or bike) isn’t quite what it used to be.

Well with computers it’s the same thing. If you look after it, it will return the favour and look after you.

How to get good WiFi coverage in a large house

How to get good WiFi coverage in a large house

I was asked to visit a large 5 story townhouse in the centre of Utrecht (The Netherlands) as they were having difficulties with getting their WiFi coverage around the whole of the house.

It’s a large family, with a large house, and many Apple devices including iMacs, MacBook Pros, iPhone, iPads, you name it they have it!

So my job was simple, but did they have the right equipment?

WordPress redirecting to homepage issue, fixed

WordPress redirecting to homepage issue, fixed

Today I had an issue with getting into my WordPress (3.9.1) admin panel, and checking the logs it seems that I’m getting ‘brute force attacked’ so I had a feeling of being hacked.

But I am very conscious of hackers so I lock down my, and my client’s sites so to date that has never happened.

So it came as a shock, so I looked round my server logs and .htaccess files to see if anything had caused the problem and couldn’t find anything, so I got more and more frustrated.

How to remove stripped screws from a MacBook Pro

I had to replace a top case on a MacBook Pro 15″ unibody for a client, but had an issue with five of the six screws that hold the display assembly in place.
